Privacy and cookies
Your privacy, kept simple.

Who we are
Ingredient is a South African educational website about extra virgin olive oil, simple Greek food and the Mediterranean table. For privacy-related questions, email ingredienttable.sa@gmail.com.
Information collected automatically
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referral source, session activity and technical identifiers. Ingredient does not use the website to collect payment information, health records or account passwords.
Why we use it
We use aggregated website information to understand which guides people find useful, improve navigation and content, measure search performance and plan future articles. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and your choice
Analytics cookies are optional. Choosing “Decline analytics” prevents Ingredient from loading Google Analytics on that device. Choosing “Accept analytics” allows measurement. Your choice is stored in your browser so the website can remember it.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is provided by Google. Information may be processed on Google infrastructure outside South Africa, subject to Google’s safeguards and terms. Read Google’s privacy policy or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Retention and security
Analytics retention is configured in Google Analytics and may retain event-level data for up to 14 months. We take reasonable steps to protect the information under our control, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request correction or deletion where applicable, object to certain processing, or raise a privacy concern. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
